Explore Prague · Old Town Square

The castle first, the bridge last

A three-hour afternoon with a guide from Old Town Square up to Prague Castle, with the castle entry paid, then down through the Lesser Town to finish on Charles Bridge. Pick it to see the castle interiors and the bridge in one go, without queuing for tickets.

Prague Castle & Charles Bridge Afternoon Walking Tour

About this experience

Explore Prague starts in front of the Old Town Hall on Old Town Square in the early afternoon; look for the lime-green umbrella. The group crosses to the castle and goes inside with the entry included: St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and Golden Lane. From there it walks down through the Lesser Town past St Nicholas Church (from outside) and finishes on Charles Bridge, which is the right way round: downhill, with the castle already done.

The castle ticket is the value here. The Main Circuit costs about 450 CZK on its own (hrad.cz), and guests praise the guides by name, Honza most often. Three caveats. Golden Lane is optional in peak season, and the guide may skip it when the castle is crowded; the ticket stays valid for two days, so you can go back. Public transport tickets are not included, so carry a 30-minute ticket or buy one on the way. And guests report lots of walking and stairs.

The tour runs 3 to 3.5 hours depending on the castle queues, groups are capped at 25, and a booking needs at least two people. Seniors over 65 get a discount with ID. Strollers manage, with some carrying on steps; wheelchairs do not.
